As the alarm clock goes off, does dread permeate your heart? Are you reluctant to open your eyes? You realize, “Yes, it is a work day.” You pull the covers over your head and roll over, putting off the entry into your workday reality as long as you possibly can.

This does not sound like fun, but I’ve been there! It’s time to realize that knowing your purpose will help motivate you to sit up, wiggle your toes, stretch, and smile knowing that, not only is this a work day, but it’s a new day moving you one step closer to living out your purpose.

Not feeling inspired yet?

If you are not sure of your purpose, consider opening your mind to new possibilities. What might happen if you look for something positive in your life to inspire you? Let’s experiment!

Be on the lookout

As you grab a coffee and head out to the door, pause for a moment and say to yourself: “Something good is going to happen today.” Then, be on the lookout! I bet by the time you return home, you’ll be able to name at least one good thing that happened.

Now, reflect on that “good” experience. What comes up for you? Is there a nugget of truth from that positive moment that will guide you toward what speaks to your heart? Make a note of it. Inspiration about your God-given purpose can come from the most unusual places.

“But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul.” Deuteronomy 4:28
